Measurement of two-photon absorption by gold nanoparticles of different sizes photodeposited onto the core of an optical fibre

In this work, the study of two-photon absorption by gold nanoparticles different diameters photodeposited onto core a single-mode optical fibre is presented. The photodeposition with 10, 20, 50 and 100 nm was achieved using continuous wave laser at wavelength 1550 power mW. Nonlinear characterization carried out P-scan technique high gain erbium doped amplifier pulses 20 ns frequency 10 kHz, that provides maximum intensity approximately 60 MW/cm 2 . results show for greater than fibre, in both cases, nonlinear coefficient as well third-order susceptibility increase diameter increases, describing typical behaviour absorption. obtained can be used design filters limiters communications area.
